Location The beautiful port city of Fremantle is steeped in history and is recognized as one of the most complete and best preserved nineteenth century ports in the world. Freo, as it is known by the locals offers something for everyone, it is culturally diverse with a wealth of celebrated cafés and restaurants concentrated along the cappuccino strip. There are also a number of museums including the new maritime museum containing the legendary Australia II Americas cup yacht, art galleries and Fremantle Prison, the most complete colonial penal facility in Australia that is now open for tours. The city also provides the gateway to a range fantastic holiday experiences. Rottnest is a half hours ferry ride away with it world class surfing, diving and pristine beaches. Several sailing clubs operate from Fremantle and there are fishing charters available for those wanting to try their luck off the contienental shelf. From Fremantle the City of Perth is only 20 km’s away and there are numerous other Indian Ocean beaches within a short drive, train ride or a leisurely cycle. From Ty Bach the centre of Fremantle is twenty minutes walk away or it is accessible on a free bus service every ten minutes that stops two minutes walk from the studio. |
